About Me

I’m the almost-40yo mom of three wonderful, amazing, and occasionally insane (and insanity-causing) children, who aren’t really children anymore. I have two sons — RC is 21 and PK is 18 — as well as a daughter — Miss M. who is about to turn 16-years-old.

We live in nearly on the New York border in scenic northeastern Pennsylvania, home of the Endless Mountains, in a county that, as recently as 20 years ago, was home to more cows than people.

Labels don’t really fit me all that well. I’m a down-home country girl and a business woman in a power suit, often at the same time. I like to play in the dirt and play on the computer. I’m a single, divorced mom, but not a bitter one. I’m also a daughter, sister, and an aunt.

I mix concepts and beliefs into a whirl that most people wouldn’t recognize, much less understand, but they work for me.

And that’s the point of this blog.

Our families, lives, and jobs are so individual that there is no one single “right” answer and no “right” way to raise a child. We just have to look around, figure out what matters to us, see what others are doing, and find what works for us and our families. We also have to learn to let go of those things that don’t work for us or our children.

Whether you’re a single mom or married mom, whether you’re a working mom or stay-at-home mom or something between or beyond those; whether you’re working-class or business-class or even first-class; whether your children are newborns or adults or somewhere in-between, I hope you’ll feel welcome in sharing what works, what doesn’t, and what makes you laugh.

And, just a side note: bragging about our kids is always on topic.
